Friends in Christ -
As many of you know, our previous ministry location was struck hard by Hurricane Irene. The most substantial damage happened in our studio space where the roof collapsed upon itself. Because of that, our entire ministry space was deemed unsafe, so we had to move out.
And instead of us rushing to find a new space in downtown Norfolk, the ministry used September as a month to step back, evaluate, and seek God's will through prayer and fasting.
So did our time with the Lord help shape our future? Tremendously!
We are now starting anew with a better focused ministry and a much more nimble and flexible view of ministry location. For we have decided to stay at our current workspace called 757creativespace, where I rent a desk and use that as a hub for ministry in downtown.
This will allow us to really focus our time, energy and resources to the most important things - evangelism and dicipleship.
Actually, in complete affirmation of the focus of discipleship, we are breaking down that part of the ministry into three different groups. The first group are the seekers - those who are just exploring and wanting to learn more about Christianity. The second group are the diggers - those that know Christ but feel that they want to learn more about how faith impacts our lives Finally, there are those that are serving - those that have a strong walk but seek to learn how to give more over to Christ.
We will be building up a series of classes to meet the needs of each group - so that many can be blessed and grow in their faith. I am extremely excited about the 1 on 1 classes that we are starting to offer to the community. I have a sense that we will make a significant impact through this model.
Regarding worship services - Crossway will not be having Sunday worship at this time. Instead, we will continue to meet as small groups and work on building the church and the kingdom until God makes it clear that it is the right time.
Finally, I want to thank everyone for their continued prayers and support for the ministry and I am eager to see what God will do next!
In Christ,
Pastor Timothy
